Member Spotlight: Julia Clarke Honored with Prestigious SWE Award for Leadership and Contributions to Engineering

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has announced the recipients of its prestigious 2024 annual awards, honoring contributions and achievements in the STEM community and championing the advancement of women in engineering. This year’s honorees, selected from over a thousand submissions include both collegiate and professional engineers from leading global companies, organizations, and academic institutions.

Among the standout recipients is our very own Julia Clarke, recognized with the Distinguished Engineer Award for her professional experience, leadership, involvement within SWE, and notable contributions to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Texas Section. Julia’s achievements perfectly exemplify the SWE mission of empowering women in STEM fields while recently being in the Texas Section leadership as the VP of Education.

Julia’s selection for this prestigious honor is a testament to her outstanding contributions not only within SWE but also through her active leadership in TexASCE. Her dedication to both organizations, combined with her professional accomplishments, underscores the spirit of collaboration and advocacy that drives engineering forward.

We are incredibly proud of Julia and her continued efforts to make a lasting impact in the engineering community. SWE’s recognition of her is a reflection of her commitment to advancing women in engineering and empowering future generations of leaders in STEM.

She will be awarded at the WE24, the world’s largest conference and career fair for women engineers and technologists on October 24-26 in Chicago. Pictures to be uploaded soon. Learn more at https://alltogether.swe.org/2024/08/swe-awards-recipients/
