EPASCE YMG hosts the Annual Women in Engineering Event
November 2023
The ASCE El Paso Branch Younger Member Group (EPASCE YMG) hosted the 2nd Annual Women in Engineering Event on the first day of fall, September 23, 2023, at El Paso’s beautiful campus, The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
The planning committee held true to the event’s purpose of bringing together women in engineering to share their experiences and enhance the community of women in engineering through empowerment and motivation.
EPASCE YMG hosted 46 attendees who represented the women practicing and/or studying engineering. The event included breakfast, a panel session, and plenty of time to network and catch up with one another. The easiness of the morning and the time to slow down from our day-to-day projects, commitments, and responsibilities was a mutual feeling and a representation of the vibe experienced at the event.
I am happy to note that this year’s event was fully funded by sponsorship provided by the engineering community. To the event Sponsors (CEA Group, Conde Inc., Brown and Caldwell, Parkhill, and RTG), THANK YOU for your sponsorship. Your sponsorship and commitment to the engineering community made this day possible and very special.
To the attendees, THANK YOU for committing to the day and expressing your support. You all brought the event to life.
To the EPASCE YMG planning committee (Daniela S., Diana G., Anthony F., and Sandra G.) and the Panelists (Alex R., Celia V., Karla R., Isabel G., and Nancy L.) THANK YOU for volunteering your time and effort, THANK YOU! A special THANK YOU to UTEP Sodexo, UTEP IT, and UTEP Assistant Dean for Engineering Student Success, Gabby Gandara for your help and support, and to ASCE Texas Section and Luvina F. for your donation.
