Join the ASCE Houston EWRI Chapter for their upcoming tour of the City of Houston Northeast Water Purification Plant on November 1. This event is for students only.

The City of Houston is expanding it’s Northeast Water Purification Plant and will more than triple the plant’s output, increasing its capacity by 320 million gallons per day. This expansion incorporates conventional water treatment processes, such as coagulation, settling, filtration, and disinfection, alongside advanced ozonation for enhanced disinfection and odor control. The project aims to reduce groundwater dependence, mitigating subsidence and flooding risks by shifting to surface water sources like Lake Houston.

The tour will provide an overview of the plant history, operations, and treatment technology.  Lunch will be provided.
